Come and learn the basics of giving a decent upper body massage. Bring a partner to practice on. There will be time for both partners to apply the techniques they have learned. The massage is done on top of clothing, with no oil.

 Shifting to simplicity holds a different meaning and unique value for each person. For me, it means removing the unnecessary, replacing stress with flow, and honoring my time by doing what I feel is most important.

This means leaving behind several things that weigh you down and freeing yourself, to spend life doing what you love and with those you cherish most. It means clearing the mess and moving forward with what really holds true value.

The journey towards simplicity isn’t always easy by any means. But when you find yourself there, freedom, flexibility, and your increased ability to thrive make it all worthwhile.

Respiration Yoga

Respiration Yoga involves a powerful breathing exercise derived from Tibetan Tummo, which has been practiced in extremely cold temperatures by monks for several thousand years and recently made popular by Wim Hof, a.k.a. “the Iceman”. This method is designed to influence the autonomic nervous system, endocrine system, and immune system, in order to bring balance to virtually all functions of the body, regulate its core temperature, and generate greater health and happiness. We will begin the practice at the top of the waterfall and then move into the water to experience it in a colder environment.

Grounding Yin Yang Vinyasa Flow starting and ending with a meditation, slowly warming up and awakening the muscles. Then building up the heat and energizing the entire body and mind.

A  discussion and exercise presentation covering the basic aspects of instructional design and techniques for leaders’ presentation.  During this seminar, we’ll attempt to consider specific aspects of instructional presentations including: physical logistics, effective agendas, various participant exercises, paired and group sharing.  Key aspects of leader delivery: use of voice and physiology, poetics and metaphore, as well as, pitfalls and challenges.

Bamboo Building 101 Part 1

with Trey Abernethy

In this 2 part workshop series we will go over the basics of working with bamboo. Discussing the benefits and sustainable nature of bamboo, proper treatment and curing methods, harvesting with the moon cycles, identifying signs of age for proper harvest time, specialized tools, cutting and joining techniques, making bamboo pins and binder sticks, splitting bamboo, lashing, knots  and more.
 
In Part 1 on Sat. there will be a short lecture and slideshow and go over a proper bamboo tool kit. Then we will all walk to a clump of bamboo and I will show the signs of age to determine what pieces to cut. Will then harvest a few pieces and clean them of the branches. Next will showcase bamboo pin and binder stick making and methods of splitting bamboo. Will demonstrate proper cutting techniques and prepare pieces for building a bookshelf in Part 2 on Sunday.

Bamboo Building Part 2

In Part 2 we'll demonstrate some additional joining techniques as we all work together to assemble a bookshelf. Will also show some proper lashing methods and knots. There will be an optional 15 min. video on bamboo shown at some point during the weekend as well.

Tonalamatl: The forgotten book of energies

with Francisco Gabriel Palomo

 

We will discuss the ancient art of using the Tonalamatl to align one self with cosmic forces and how it is used for guidance along the path to awakening.

Important Notes

** Bring Camping gear and a flashlight (It is very dark at night), food for the weekend, extra veggies for the community stew, gifts for friends

** Beds are first come first serve
(First beds go to Providers/staff , then community members, then visitors)

** All ages all weekend

** Must have a 4 x 4 vehicle to drive down to the Center. Otherwise park to the right of the entrance and walk down. (Keep cars in the parking area near kitchen)
